The aim of the Fundación Museo Picasso Málaga. Legado Paul, Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso is to ensure that the work of Pablo Picasso is conserved, exhibited, studied and disseminated. The permanent collection reveals the extent of the artist’s work over time, as well as its intrinsic versatility and the cyclical nature of his artistic research. It focuses attention on his constant calling to explore the expressive possibilities of any medium.
The Museo Picasso Málaga’s temporary exhibitions delve deeper into various aspects of works by Pablo Picasso and other artists within his milieu. The Congress coincides with the opening of the exhibition entitled Picasso’s South. Andalusian References. This exhibition forms part of the Picasso-Méditerranée project led by the Musée national Picasso-Paris, and it will show the artist’s fervent interest in and vast knowledge of the Spanish artistic tradition.
